Light is the second facade
A facade is not read as a drawing. It is read through moving shade, reflected color, rain streaks, and the oblique view from a passing car. The grid may stay fixed, but daylight constantly redraws its hierarchy.
Depth gives light a place to land
Reveals, fins, and ledges do more than protect openings. They create a thickness where the changing sky can be registered. A flat surface can be efficient; a deep one can become memorable.
